Tamale, Oct. 11, GNA – AZALI, a film that
tries to address some of the social issues confronting society, would be
premiered in Tamale tomorrow, October 12.

AZALI is a story of a 14-year old girl from
the north of the country, who is forced by the circumstances to travel down
south to fend for herself but other things happen to her in the south that
worsen her plight.

The one and a half hour film, combines some of
the well-known talents or actors from the north such as Afa Nasam, Hajia Mary
Cokrah and Asana Alhassan, and from the south Adjety Anan, and Ama K. Abebrese
to shoot what industry analysts describe as an authentic movie that reflects
the realities of the time.

Mr Kwabena Gyansah, Director of Ananse
Entertainment, producers of AZALI, said the film received international
commendation as it was already shown in countries including Kenya and Canada
where it was highly patronized.

Mr Gyansah urged film lovers in the north
especially Tamale to come out in their numbers to watch the film saying “the
script is tight and it resonates well with all.”

He said Ananse Entertainment would continue to
produce authentic movies that reflected the realities of people’s lives.

Mr Adjetey Anan, an actor and character in
AZALI, said the film gave a deeper understanding of the realities on the ground
rather than listening to it in the news.
