An aspiring NDC parliamentary candidate for the Old Tafo constituency, Mr. Sahmudeen Mohammed Kamil has jabbed the ministry for Zango and inner cities that, the construction of football pitches are not the main priorities of the Zangos.
According to the astute chemist, the ministry for Zongo and inner cities has shifted from its core mandate to do what could have been better down by another ministry, hence not living up to its mandate.
His concerns came weeks after Hon. Mustapha Hamid, directed contractors of Green Park project at Tafo Zongo in the Ashanti Region to reconstruct the pitch at their cost.
The minster says, he has discovered that, the filling used for the park contained sharp and harmful objects, and therefore must be reconstructed.
Mr. Sahmudeen who was born and bred in the Tafo Zango indicated that, the construction of football pitches are not the main priority of the Zango communities in the country.
He further entreats the ministry to stop the misplace priority, and concentrate on improving the lives of the zangos.
“The priority of Zongo is education, afford them with scholarships to further education to read medicine, law, and engineering courses but not football pitches”. He explains.
“If you want to promote development in every community or country education is the key” he added.
The main objective of the ministry as stated on their website is to empower the indigenes of Inner-Cities and Zongo communities through a Coordinated Programme of Economic and Social Development Policies and facilitate a prosperous, inclusive and sustainable social transformation of the Inner-Cities and Zango Communities.
Since it began work, the ministry has faced a strong critique from some top-notch personalities in the Zangos for not concentrating on the most prioritize needs of the Zangos.
