Begoro (E/R), Oct. 10, GNA – This year’s Ahwie
festival of the chiefs and people of Begoro would be used to highlight
development needs and raise the image of Begoro – the capital of Fanteakwa
North District.

Begoro (E/R), Oct. 10, GNA – This year’s Ahwie
festival of the chiefs and people of Begoro would be used to highlight
development needs and raise the image of Begoro – the capital of Fanteakwa
North District.

This was disclosed to the Ghana News Agency by
Nana Ofori Amo- Yaw, the Apegyahene for Begoro, who also doubles as the
chairman for the festival planning committee.

The festival would be organized under the
theme: “Revamping Fanteakwa, the role of the citizenry”. 

He called on natives of Begoro in the diaspora
to contribute their quota to help raise the image of Begoroman.

The event planning Chairman said the 2018
Ahwie festival would bring together over 45 communities within the Fanteakwa
North District with their sub chiefs to Begoro.

He said the sub chiefs would pay homage to
Begorohene and Benkumhene of the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional area Dasebre Awuah
Kotoko II.

This year’s Ahwie festival would be held from
16th to  22nd October
2018 and various activities including football games, beauty pageant, clean up
exercise, trip to the various tourist sites among other interesting activities,
have been lined up for the celebration.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is
expected to attend the festival.

This year’s festival is being sponsored by
Mumuadu Rural Bank, Eagle Beer and Nana Takyi Bitters.
