Awudome (V/R), Oct. 08, GNA – Torgbui Adzesi
Dzaga VI, Acting President, Awudome Traditional Council, in the Ho West
District of the Volta Region, has appealed to government to complete work on
the Kpeve water extension project.

He said the project which was in its second
phase and expected to extend water supply to communities in the Awudome
Traditional Area, had delayed for years and appealed to government to expedite
action on the project.

Torgbui Dzaga made the appeal at a durbar to
climax this year’s Awudome Yam Festival on the theme: “Rallying Awudome
State for Development.”

He said it appeared the traditional area had
been abandoned and sited the bad state of Awudome – Dzolokpuita and Anyirawase
– Tsibu roads and asked government to fix the stretches to open up the area for
development.

Togbe Dzaga said the poor road network was
affecting agribusinesses and occasionally cut off some communities during the
rainy season and needed quick attention.

He asked the people to form farming
cooperative unions and go into commercial farming and take advantage of
government’s policies to enhance their lots.

Mr. Biadela Mortey Akpadzi, former Economic
and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) Boss, urged the people not to depend solely
on government for development and encouraged the youth to come together and
develop the area.

He advised unemployed youth in the area to
venture into trade and craftsmanship.
