Kumasi, Oct 1, GNA – The Afigya Sekyere South
District Chief Executive (DCE), Mrs. Catharine Recline, has counselled
beneficiaries of the Nation Builders Corps [NABCO] to do away with absenteeism
and slothfulness when deployed to their various Institutions to work.

Addressing beneficiaries of the programme in
the District during an orientation held at Agona, she hinted that she was not
going to tolerate laziness, absenteeism and lateness among beneficiaries in the
District.

She counselled them to exhibit a high sense of
discipline in the discharge of their duties and work hard to contribute
meaningfully to the development of the District.

The DCE said NABCO was a stopgap measure
introduced by government to address the high graduate unemployment in the
country with the objective of building the capacity of beneficiaries to prepare
them for permanent employment after three years.

She cautioned the personnel to perform their
duties devoid of politics and re-channel their youthful exuberance to
contribute to national development.

They should serve as good ambassadors of NABCO
and justify the importance of the programme.

Mrs. Recline used the occasion to advise the
youth to stay away from hard drugs and alcoholism, which most often led them
into committing various criminal offenses.
