Accra, Sept. 26, GNA – The Social Security and
National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) is organizing its annual Mobile Customer
Clinic nationwide by pitching camp at 66 vantage locations across the country,
to bring its services closer to its customers from September 24t to 28, 2018.
During this period, customers can access
services from these locations in addition to the various branches and offices.
The theme for this year’s Mobile Customer
Clinic is “Wo (SSNIT) Daakye hy3 wonsa”, to wit “Your future is in your hands”.
The Trust, through this year’s clinic, is
entreating workers in Ghana to ensure that their employers pay SSNIT
contributions regularly and on the actual salaries to ensure a pension that is
reflective of salaries earned.
The 2018 event will provide additional avenues
for members and the general public to learn about their rights,
responsibilities and benefits under the scheme and also create awareness of new
initiatives and innovation within the Trust, as well as provide free retirement
advisory services.
The SSNIT discharges its responsibility
through registration of employers and workers, collection of contributions,
management of members’ records, investment of funds of the scheme and
processing and payment of benefits to eligible members and nominated
dependents.
The SSNIT Pension Scheme as at June has over
1.4 million members with over 190,000 pensioners, who regularly receive monthly
pension.
The SSNIT is a customer focused organization
and continuously develops and evaluates convenient ways of engaging its various
stakeholders. It is the largest non-banking financial institution and the
largest single investor on the Ghana Stock Exchange
