Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, has recalled members of the House to
begin a five-day emergency sitting from Monday, September 24, to Friday,
September 28, to consider important matters brought before the House.

Accra, Sept. 24, GNA – The Speaker of
Parliament, Professor Aaron Mike Oquaye, has recalled members of the House to
begin a five-day emergency sitting from Monday, September 24, to Friday,
September 28, to consider important matters brought before the House.

Pursuant to Order 42 (3) of the Standing
Orders of Parliament, the Speaker directed that Parliament, notwithstanding
anything to the contrary, be recalled from recess to sit from Monday to Friday
to consider among others, some “urgent Parliamentary business.”

Parliament is expected to consider the
Financing Agreement between Ghana and International Development Association of
the World Bank, Supplier Credit Agreement between Ghana and Federal Republic of
Brazil and Minerals Development Fund Bill, among others.

The House is also expected to work on the
consideration of the Right to Information Bill, the new ministerial
appointments by the Appointments Committee of Parliament, as well as consider
the new Ameri Power Agreement,

The legislators are further expected to
confirm President Akufo-Addo’s nomination of four justices to the Supreme
Court.
