“GTUC frowns on dishonest conduct and in
this regard the University College will verify all results submitted at the
level of entry,” he stated.

“Our University prides itself with
integrity, excellence and academic freedom as key core values that guide us in
principle and in life. I will also encourage all students to learn hard to
write exams that will be devoid of malpractice and dishonesty.”

Prof Blankson, who is also a Member of the
Interim Governing Council of GTUC, said education was not just about the
acquisition of knowledge, but it engenders honesty, respect, equality and
compassion.

He noted that GTUC gives students the tools to
reason, make judgments, ash tough questions and become critical thinkers.

He advised all fresh students to take full
advantage of the university’s resources to help them in their studies.

Prof Blankson said: “In GTUC, our quest
for knowledge is embedded in all aspects of our teaching and learning. The
University creates the platform for students to discover or fine tune their
talents, so that they become the person who will go out to make GTUC and the
country proud, uplift the African continent and positively impact the entire
world.”

Mr Richard Kotei Djane, a Bachelor of Science
Information Technology student, speaking on the behalf of his fellow
matriculants, said their recognition of the good work of the Management of GTUC
has informed their decision to pursue their university education at GTUC.

“But then, we would also like to
establish the fact that success is not a destination but a journey of eternal
fulfilment. With this said we are counting on the management to put in more
efforts to make our stay here on campus more fulfilling by building more hostel
facilities, studying rooms in our hostels,
to answer the question of accommodation challenges and that more lecture
halls with available and working air-conditioning systems to facilitate the
efficiency of teaching and learning.”

Dr Juliana Owusu-Ansah, the Registrar, GTUC,
administered the matriculation oath to the new entrants.
