Ashantigold beat Kotoko in ‘Golden Clash 2’

Ashantigold SC defeated their regional rivals Asante Kotoko 3-2, in the second leg of the Golden Clash played at the Len Clay Sports Stadium on Sunday.

A last strike by Richard Djorbi, from a penalty spot ensured the Elephants avenged their 3-2 loss against the Porcupine Warriors in the first leg of the encounter.

Ashantigold dominated the game in early stages and deservedly went ahead after winger Shafiu Mumumi opened the scoring for the home side with a delightful strike.

Mumuni doubled his side lead few minutes later with another thunderous strike, but a late first half gasp by Kotoko’s Obed Owusu ensured a slim advantage for Ashantigold as the game went to recess.

Kotoko started the second half on the front foot as they search for much needed equaliser.

Sogne Yacouba continued his remarkable goal scoring form for the Porcupine Warriors, when he stepped up with a superb equaliser.

But a later penalty awarded Ashantigold by Referee Latif Qadri , saw Ashantigold’s Ivorian attacker Djorbi step up and fire home from the penalty spot to ensure victory for
