Accra, Sept. 23, GNA –
Ashantigold SC defeated their regional rivals Asante Kotoko 3-2, in the second
leg of the Golden Clash played at the Len Clay Sports Stadium on Sunday.

A last strike by
Richard Djorbi, from a penalty spot ensured the Elephants avenged their 3-2
loss against the Porcupine Warriors in the first leg of the encounter.

Ashantigold dominated
the game in early stages and deservedly went ahead after winger Shafiu Mumumi
opened the scoring for the home side with a delightful strike.

Mumuni doubled his
side lead few minutes later with another thunderous strike, but a late first
half gasp by Kotoko’s Obed Owusu ensured a slim advantage for Ashantigold as the
game went to recess.

Kotoko started the
second half on the front foot as they search for much needed equaliser.

Sogne Yacouba
continued his remarkable goal scoring form for the Porcupine Warriors, when he
stepped up with a superb equaliser.

But a later penalty
awarded Ashantigold by Referee Latif Qadri, saw Ashantigold’s

Ivorian attacker
Djorbi step up and fire home from the penalty spot to ensure victory for Ashantigold.
