Bobikuma (C/R), Sept.
23, GNA – Mrs Cynthia Morrison, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Agona West,
has inaugurated a six-classroom block after the completion of its
rehabilitation for the Upper Bobikuma Presbyterian Junior High School in the
Central Region.

Addressing chiefs,
students, teachers and supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the
inauguration, Mrs Morrison said the renovation of the school was in fulfilment
of a promise made to the people in the constituency during the 2016 elections.

She this shows the
value she places on education in the area.

Mrs Morrison, now
Minister-designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection, expressed
gratitude to the chiefs and people of Bobikuma for voting massively for the NPP
in the 2016 elections.

She said education is
also a priority for President Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, hence the introduction of
the Free Senior High School Policy, which took-off last year and urged parents
to take advantage of it to send their children to school.

The MP assured
authorities of the Bobikuma Presbyterian Basic School that she would ensure
that the school is listed on the School Feeding Programme to encourage the
enrolment of more pupils.

Ms Betty Essel, the
Agona West Municipal Director of Education, commended the MP for her prompt
action in renovating the school, whose dilapidated condition compelled the
authorities to send JHS ‘1’ to ‘3’ students to different schools in the town.

She called on the
school authorities, the Parent Teacher Association and the School Management
Committee to take good care of the school block.

Ms Essel praised the
teachers and the students of the school for their hard work which produced
excellent results in this year and last year’s BECE.

Reverend Cosmos Labi,
the Head teacher of the school, expressed gratitude to the MP for the
rehabilitation of the school and appealed to individuals and organisations to
support the renovation of the school toilet facility.

Mr Kojo Addo, the
Agona West Chairman of NPP, lauded the MP for her support to school children of
Upper Bobikuma to get quality education.

Nana Antwi Buabeng XI,
the Chief Upper Bobikuma, said the chiefs and the people of the town would
always remember the good things of the President and the MP and they  would also play their part to ensure that
education improves in the area.

Mr George Gyamfi, the
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Boafo Ye Na Money Lender, donated 20 bags of
cement towards the rehabilitation of the school toilet facility.

He called on NPP
supporters in the area to rally behind the MP to enable her to improve the
living conditions of the people.
