The People’s Democratic Party(PDP) has called for the immediate arrest of the Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shittu, following revelations that he dodged his compulsory one-year national service.
According to the opposition party, the revelation ‘further validates our position that President Muhamadu Buhari has many persons of questionable character in his cabinet.’
The party in a statement released on Friday accused President Buhari, of appointing fraudulent persons to hold key offices in his government – This, the party says has shown that ‘he has a weighty integrity burden, contrary to the ‘Mr. Clean’ posturing which his handlers had always wanted Nigerians to believe.’
The PDP further urged the President to provide answer to allegations that such individuals are being used as henchmen to fritter away trillions of naira from our treasury to service All Progressives Congress (APC) interests and the Presidency cabal.
To this end, the opposition party asked that the police quickly arrest Shittu and charge him to court.
We therefore call on the PoliceNG to immediately invite, arrest and charge Adebayo Shittu and others to Court for fraud and criminal conspiracy to skip NYSC COMPULSORY service. President Muhammadu Buhari should note that Nigerians have lost confidence in his anti-corruption fight.
