Dambai (VR), Sept. 17, GNA – The family of a
three-year old boy who died at Pai Katanga Clinic near Dambai is accusing
nurses of the facility for negligence.

The boy was allegedly sent to the Clinic last
week Tuesday at about 2200 hours by his parents for “minor pains”.

The family claimed the boy died at about 0400
hours after the nurse on duty allegedly refused to attend to him, saying, she
had closed.

However, Mr Issah Apolongo, Assemblyman for
the area told the GNA that authorities of the Clinic said the nurse on duty had
been working alone for three months after her colleague went on study leave and
was feeling unwell the day the incident occurred, having worked the whole day.

GNA gathered that management of the Clinic,
led by Madam Rose Bosrocsi, a Midwife, described the incident as unfortunate
and apologized to the family.
