Ho, Sept. 15, GNA – Mr. Benjamin Kpodo, Member
of Parliament for Ho Central has allocated a quarter of the Member of
Parliament’s (MP’s) Common Fund to support over 100 brilliant but needy
students in the Ho Municipality.

A total of GH¢49,450.00, a quarter of the Fund
supported students from both secondary and tertiary institutions in the
Municipality.

Each student from universities, Colleges of
Education and Nursing Training Colleges received GH¢500, GH¢400 and GH¢250
respectively for an academic year.

Mr Kpodo said this when he offered financial
assistance to some brilliant but needy students in Ho.

He admitted that the amount allocated in the
Common Fund to each student was not enough but explained that the Fund was not
for educational purposes but for other development issues.

Mr. Kpodo urged students in the Municipality
who needed financial support for education to apply early because it was a term
grant and that delays would mean missing out on the opportunity to access the
Fund.

“Don’t let financial circumstances deter you
from accessing education” he added.

Mr. Kpodo encouraged beneficiaries to study
hard to justify the investment of government and their parents in them.

Madam Jessie Akama, Ho Municipal Director of
Education, also charged beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity and
excel in their academics.

Mr. John Nelson Akorli, Ho Municipal Chief
Executive, commended the MP for the gesture and described it as good investment
worthy of emulation.
