Board member of Berekum Chelsea, Mr. Oduro Sarfo has praised football’s world governing body, FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF), for the team they have assembled as members of the Normalisation Committee named on Thursday, to manage the affairs of Ghana football in the interim for the next six months
Yesterday, the FIFA-CAF delegation, led by Mr Amadu Pinnick, the President of the Nigeria Football Federation who is also the first vice president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), revealed the members of the committee at a press briefing at the Ghana Football Association (GFA) after an interview process last Wednesday.
On Thursday,Veron Mosengo Umba and his team named the Normalisation Committee members as Dr. Kofi Amoah, Chairman, Ms Lucy Quist, vice chairperson, Naa Odofoley Nortey and Mr. Duah Adonteng as members.
And Oduro Sarfo one of the few football Administrators who was present when the committee was being revealed, told the Graphic Sports online that he was happy with the composition of the committee.
“For me, I have no doubt in Dr. Kofi Amoah. I have worked with him before when he was the Chairman of the CAN 2008 board and looking at the work he has so far done with liaison committee, I think he can lead the team to deliver. Lucy Quist, I do not know her much but I learnt she is a marketer, I believe she will help us secure sponsorship for the league and various national teams”.
“Lawyer Duah Adonten is quite known in the football fraternity, he is very affable, and he is experienced. Naa Odofoley Nortey is the rep from the Attorney General’s office. I agree she should be there because of the amendment which has to be done.”
FIFA/CAF delegation stated that other names will be added to the names mentioned. The normalization committee is expected to amend certain Articles of the GFA constitution, Conduct election for the Executive committee and President of the Association and also to conduct a forensic Audit on the accounts of Ghana Football Association.
