Dr Kofi Amoah is the chairman of the Normalization Committee
Director of Sports at the University of Ghana, Dr. Balla Bello Betigou says the FIFA/CAF Normalization Committee might encounter some form of opposition from quarters in the discharge of their duties.
The World’s football governing body named renowned businessman, Dr. Kofi Amoah as President of the Normalization Committee to be assisted by Telecommunication magnate, Madam Lucy Quist.
Legal brains, Dua Adonten and Naa Odofoley Nortey are members will consist of members of Committee which replaces the defunct Ghana Football Association.
Ex-GFA Chairman, Alhaji Lepowura M.N.D Jawula was dropped at the eleventh hour after going through the interviewing session by the FIFA delegation.
The Normalization Committee has until March of 2019 to finish their work.
Dr Balla Bello Betigou told Radio Gold Sports that,the Committee is likely to face opposition from some quarters.
“It is an industry and there is always protection,exclusivity and there is the powers that be who are in the comfort zone who do not want to shift.”
“There are different kinds of people who are there with different kinds of motives and interest and why certain things should not be or not be there.”
“I can imagine an opposition because it is a human endeavour.”
“There is no human situation which is devoid of opposition so they may face opposition”
Monthly update reports will be sent to Fifa and CAF.
A forensic audit of the GFA accounts will be done.
