Accra, Sept. 13, GNA –
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in partnership with the Ghana Cyclist
Association, will organise three Cycling Competitions dubbed “King of the
Mountain” as part of the UN World Tourism Day Celebrations on Saturday,
September 28, 2018, at Kwahu.

Accra, Sept. 13, GNA –
The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in partnership with the Ghana Cyclist
Association, will organise three Cycling Competitions dubbed “King of the
Mountain” as part of the UN World Tourism Day Celebrations on Saturday,
September 28, 2018, at Kwahu.

The Cycling
Competition forms part of the side attractions of the World Tourism Day
Celebrations, and the competition will be between cyclists from Ghana, Cote
d’Ivoire, Togo, Benin, Nigeria and Burkina Faso.

A release issued by
the GTA to the Ghana News Agency in Accra, on Thursday, said the competition is
the first to be organised and would add more innovations and create excitement
during the ’FUN & FLY’ paragliding to attract more tourists to the Kwahu
area.

The release said the
Cyclists would be competing for prizes and will go through some major towns in
Kwahu and end at the Paramount Chief’s Palace in Abene.

It said prizes would
be awarded to the first ten participants, with the first three taking home
Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in addition to some consolation prizes. The rest
of the participants would receive consolation prizes.

Other side attractions
for the World Tourism Day Celebrations include a durbar of Chiefs and People at
the Abetifi Palace, a digital Symposium, children playground and sale of
assorted local food and drinks.
