Enchi (W/R), September 12, GNA – The Enchi
District Magistrate court  has sentenced
a teacher to three days imprisonment for riding an unregistered Haojin motor
bike without a license.

Cosmos Asamoah, 30, a teacher at Dwirigum
Municipal Authority Junior High School, near Enchi pleaded guilty on both
counts and was convicted on his own plea.

The court presided over by Mr Eric Baah
Boateng in addition, slapped a fine of GH¢600.00 on Asamoah and in default 90
days in prison in hard labour.

The facts of the case as presented by
Detective Sergeant Joseph Kwadwo Agyare are that, the complainants, Motor
Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) officers stationed at Enchi on

September 3, this year, conducted their usual
motor checks at Mile 3 on the Enchi- Asankragwa road.

Detective Sgt Agyare said around 1020 hours,
Asamoah arrived at the check point riding an unregistered Haojin motor bike.

The prosecution told the court that when
Asamoah was asked to produce his rider’s license for inspection, he failed to
do so.

He said Asamoah was therefore arrested and
sent to the Enchi police station together with the motor bike which was later
impounded.
