Despite defection rumours and Tinubu feud, Ambode grabs APC nomination form for reelection

Rumours about the defection of Akinwumi Ambode, the Governor of Lagos state, from the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) were hot last week – As some people, who claimed to be in the know, said that the Governor was leaving the APC because he had lost favour with APC National Leader, Bola Tinubu.

Ambode according to the speculators, was leaving for the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) because he feared that he might not get the APC ticket to represent the state, in next year’s election, having lost Tinubu’s support.

However, Ambode who was in President Muhammadu Buhari’s entourage during his visit to China for the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, on Monday picked up his Nomination forms.

Speaking via Twitter earlier, Ambode wrote;

I was at the National Headquarters of our party, the All Progressives Congress, to collect the Nomination Forms to re-contest for the office of Governor of Lagos State. Once again, I count on your support.
