Sunyani, (B/A), Sept. 1, GNA – The
Brong-Regional Police Command has advised NDC delegates and supporters
attending the Brong-Ahafo Regional Congress to be tolerant and comport
themselves well.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency
(GNA) at the Jubilee Park in Sunyani, venue of the event, Chief Inspector
Augustine Kingsley Oppong, the Regional Police Public Relations Officer warned
the police would not spare trouble makers.

He urged the teeming supporters of the NDC to
be tolerant and exhibit a high sense of political maturity and civility in
order not to be found wanting.

More than 925 delegates including; Members of
Parliament (MPs) are attending the congress to elect new regional executives
for Election 2020.

Chief Inspector Oppong said the police was
determined to ensure law and order for a successful congress saying it had
deployed the required police personnel to the venue.

“If you want to do anything stupid, be
mindful that some of our ununiformed men are monitoring events”, he
stated.

Chief Inspector Oppong also urged the police
personnel to remain professional in the course of their duties.

Meanwhile, the Regional Elections Committee of
the NDC has assured the various candidates contesting the elections of free,
fair and transparent balloting.

Mr Kwame Anning Frimpong, the Chairman of the
committee in an interview with the GNA said the elections would be conducted in
an atmosphere of peace.
