The Greater Accra Communications Caucus of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has declared their support to the incumbent Regional Communications Officer, Mr Jerry Johnson ahead of Saturday’s regional conference.

The thirty-four substantive constituency communications officers and the thirty-four deputies endorsed his candidature because of his experience and competent.

According to the leadership, Mr Johnson’s communications prowess and political experience outweighs his opponents, thus, Messrs Latif Osman, Samuel Ablordeppey and Gabby Asumin.

According to them, Mr Johnson is affable, reliable and above all, he has the party at heart. These are qualities which make him the best and only person to be entrusted with the duty of manning the affairs of the party’s communications in the region.

Mr Mawuli Kpodo who spoke on behalf of his colleagues in Accra said their action was motivated by the leadership skills, sacrifices, commitment and communications prowess of Mr Johnson.

He noted that the hardworking regional communications officer had been tried and tested and so he should be given the nod again to continue his work.

He however cautioned other contenders for the communications post to forget about votes from the Communications caucus since they have already given Jerry Johnson their blessings.

Mr Mawuli Kpodo called on delegates to vote for Mr. Johnson to continue the good work he has started in order to win power in 2020.

He said the entire regional communications caucus decided to endorse Jerry Johnson because of his industry and determination to move the party in the right direction.

On his part, Mr Jerry Johnson admonished the gathering of party communications officers and prospective delegates to make informed choices at the upcoming regional election.

He said he was the surest bet for the party to win the Greater Accra region if it intends to win power in 2020.

Over 1,000 delegates are expected to converge at the Central Cafeteria of the University of Ghana to elect regional officers, who would steer the affairs of the Party in the 2020 general election.
