Fifi Kwetey supports education in Ketu-South

Aflao, Aug. 30, GNA – Mr Fifi Kwetey, the
Member of Parliament (MP) for Ketu-South, has provided sponsorship for students
in various educational institutions as his commitment towards improving on
education in the Constituency.

The MPs educational sponsorship is in the areas
of scholarships, travel support for overseas students and infrastructure
development.

Fifty-five students across all levels, up to
tertiary, have received sponsorship from the MP amounting to GH¢55,000.00, from
his share of the Common Fund.

The amount ranges from GH¢700.00 to GH¢2,000.00
per student. The recipients are from the three traditional areas, which make up
the Constituency namely: Aflao, Some, and Klikor.

During the presentation of travel support to
two students who won scholarships for second degree courses in institutions in
the United States of America, Mr Kwetey expressed joy at the performance of the
students and appealed to them to remain focused and disciplined.

Mr Kwetey listed some educational projects to
be commissioned shortly, which include kindergarten blocks at Atsiaklobor in
the Klikor Traditional Area, Aflao-Torkor EP Basic School and Logove Zion Basic
School at Agbozume, all built with a GetFund allocation.

He would also commission a modern Early
Childhood Centre at Akame, built from his Common Fund allocation.

Mr Kwetey said he was initiating the
construction of a kindergarten at Duta and that in the next academic year, some
3,000 pairs of sandals would be distributed to pupils who went to school
barefooted, as listed by heads of basic schools in the Constituency.

He said he would also donate a desktop
computer and a printer to the Ketu-South Municipal Directorate of Health.
