The head coach of Aduana Stars, Kenichi Yatsuhashi, believes his side will overcome the ASEC Mimosas challenge in their penultimate CAF Confederation Cup match at the Nana Agyeman Badu II Park at Dormaa-Ahenkro on Sunday, August 19.

According to him, irrespective of the tough task ahead, the story will be different from the 0-1 first leg loss to the Ivorians last May.

“Qualification to the next stage is possible but it will be difficult because ASEC are a good side just like the other teams in our group.

But the story will definitely be different this time round because I wasn’t the one in charge when they beat Aduana Stars,” he told the Daily Graphic.

For his part, the general captain of the club, Emmanuel Akuoku, said his side’s qualification to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup would depend largely on their performance in the last two games against ASEC and Raja Casablanca of Morocco.

The rugged defender assured that the team would leave no stone unturned to grab all three points against ASEC Mimosas on Sunday.

“It’s not going to be easy but whether we will qualify from the group stage or not depends on these last two matches and we want to qualify so we have no option than to work hard to win all three points on Sunday,” he said.

As part of preparations towards the match, Aduana played a friendly against Young Apostles of Sunyani which they won 1-0 last Saturday.

After four games, Aduana are third with four points, three points behind leaders Raja Casablanca.

The match will be handled by referee Joshua Bondo from Botswana, who will be assisted by Arsenio Chadreque Maringule from Mozambique, Soure Phatsoane (Lesotho) and Tirelo Mositwane (Botswana).
