Plans to fix Bolga Municipal link roads soon – MCE

Bolgatanga, Aug. 5, GNA – Mr Joseph Amiyuure,
Bolgatanga Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) has stated that budgetary plans have
been made to soon fix all link roads in the Municipality.

He noted that the plans were made in
collaboration with Urban Roads to give facelift to roads linking residential
areas and communities.

Mr Amiyuure gave the assurance in an interview
with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Bolgatanga in response to  the rate of deterioration of link roads
leading to most residential areas and communities in the municipality,
including roads linking the CIDA Bungalows, Bolgatanga Flats, SSNIT Flats,
Kumbosigo residential area, the VRA sub-station Sirigu roads among others.

According to him, all the roads have been
packaged and submitted to the Roads Ministry for consideration and approval and
added that the conditions of the roads would soon be a thing of the past.

The MCE reiterated that the President, Nana
Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo was keen about the road sector and pledged the
commitment of government to ensure that the roads in the municipality were
motorable.

Even though the Bawku-Bolgatanga road had
already been awarded on contract, and plans were in place to start spot filling
the Bolgatanga–Timber-market–Zuaraungu road to facilitate movement of vehicles,
goods and services.

The MCE assured citizens in the area to have
confidence in the NPP administration and said government was determined to
fulfil the promises it made to Ghanaians to bring the needed relief to the
citizenry.

He added that, 10 communities have been
identified in the Bolgatanga Municipality for the “One District, One Dam”
project, which will soon be rolled out after the Bongo District currently
ongoing.

He added that the project would create jobs
and increase farming activities in the municipality as well as improve the
livelihoods of the citizenry.
