Jeff Koinange Didn’t Call Me Stupid

Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o has moved to quash reports that he quit on his radio bromance with Jeff Koinange because he[Jeff] made a derogatory remark about him.

It had been widely reported by those other blogs that Jalas called it a day at Hot96 after a video emerged showing the former copresenters in a heated debate about the recent cases of arson in Kenyan high schools.

Here are some excerpts from that conversation:

Jalang’o: “There’s no time we burned a school because we feared exams.”

Jeff: “Because you were stupid.”

Jalas: “No, don’t use that word on me again. That’s the last time.”

Koinange then clicks and Jalang’o responds: “Don’t click by the way.”

Their conversation on the debate was blown out of proportion leading to speculation that Jeff’s “Stupid” remark was one of the reasons why Jalas walked out on the popular breakfast show, Jeff and Jalas in The Morning.

But Jalang’o has refuted the misleading reports saying the video was taken out of context and he has no beef with Koinange.

“I have received so many calls asking me why I left Hot 96 and why I parted ways with Jeff when the show was such an amazing gig and everything was just perfect…

“Now here’s NOT why I left! There is this story doing rounds that Jeff abused me or called me stupid and blogs have picked it and making everyone believe that it’s the reason why I left! NO JEFF DID NOT CALL ME STUPID!” he wrote on social media.

The comedian, who has since reunited with his former co-presenter Alex Mwakideu, further explained: “What the blogs have done is pick a Part of our conversation and edited it to feed this lie! Jeff and I had and still do have the best relationship ever! Jeff actually knew that I was leaving and wished me well…

“I have since called Jeff and we had the best conversation and the show must and will go on without me Hot 96 is a big brand. So let no one lie to you that Jeff abused me…he would never do that because of the respect we have for each other.”
