Tamale, July 17, GNA
– Madam Abubakari Aisha Baucie, the General Manager of the Motor King Company
Limited, has advised women to develop interest in engineering and manufacturing
to create job opportunities and improve their living conditions.

She said women need
to be empowered with support from both government and Non- Governmental
Organisations economically, socially and politically, to become better
contributors to national development.

Madam Baucie gave
the advice in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) during a visit to
the company on Tuesday, in Tamale by the GNA to check on its operations and
work and also how the Tricycles had benefitted people in the three Northern
Regions.

She said the Company
had so far trained four young ladies on how to assemble the motor tricycles and
that, they had since been employed and are competing with their male
counterparts in the assembling of the tricycles.

She said, being the
first Motor Tricycles assembling Company in the country, she had provided
knowledge and skills to the workers to enhance their living standards.

“The skills had
empowered the women to achieve economic sufficiency, improved their social and economic
standards as well as transforming their lives.”

Madam Baucie called
on the unemployed, especially women in the area, to come to the Company for a
free skill training, to enable them to earn an income.

She advised
motorists and pedestrians to endeavour to be patient on the road to avoid
accidents.
