Accra, July 16, GNA – Nana Yaw Amponsah,
President of Phar Rangers Football Club, has proposed a new league format for
Ghana Football Association (GFA), as the nation seek reforms within the various
structures of the local football controlling body.
Amponsah, who has been a long term
presidential aspirant of the GFA, in a four pager document revealed his ideal
format for the league, which consist three men’s league namely Super League, Premier League and Division
One.
Within this league format 16 Clubs teams would
compete in the elite division of Ghana Football with 13 surviving teams
2019/2020 Premier League plus three prompted Division league making the ‘Super
League’.
The documents further revealed that, the top
eight teams from each Division One Zone would form the Premier League (24
clubs) and the surviving division one teams and promoted division two teams
from the regional leagues would form the division one of 24 teams.
The astute football administrator remains
content with the structure of current women’s football which consist two zonal
sectors.
The comprehensive proposal drafted by the
administrator also delves into the managerial aspect of the football
association on the interim bases as it goes to suggest the personnel that
should fill certain position within various ranks.
Meanwhile, information gathered by GNA Sports
indicates that, the two member liaison set up by FIFA and Government have
requested the Ghana League Clubs Associations (GHALAC) to make an input with
regards to the future league format of Ghana’s football.
