Weather Update: Warm and dry conditions for SA coastline

Warm and dry conditions are expected for the entire coastline of South Africa on Wednesday.

Warning

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected over the eastern parts of the Namakwa district in the Northern Cape, Breede River Valley, central and little Karoo as well as the Knysna municipality in the Western Cape.

Rain

Isolated showers can be expected in central Mpumalanga.  

The rest of the country remains dry.

Temperatures

Minimum temperatures will be cool across the country with cold conditions expected over the Free State region.

The coldest place will be Sutherland in the Northern Cape, dropping to a below-freezing -1°C.

Maximum temperatures remain cool throughout most of the country. Warm weather is expected along the coastline of the country, eastern Mpumalanga and most parts of Limpopo.

The hottest place is Vredendal in the Western Cape, with a high of 30°C.

Pretoria will reach a high of 23°C, while Johannesburg is expected to reach 20°C, and Bloemfontein is expected to experience a maximum of 21°C.

Along the coastal regions, Cape Town will reach 24°C, while Port Elizabeth is expected to reach a high of 28°C and Durban will reach a maximum of 25°C.
