A man who was trying to hide from police was killed by a bulldozer.

An employee of the Pennsylvania Gaming Commission was driving a bulldozer in the area of Snyder School and S. Garfield streets in Penn Township around 10:00 a.m. when he saw a car suspiciously parked off the road in a field.

The Bernville police were called to the scene.

Officers who arrived at the scene saw two men emerging from the thick brush and then fled on foot.

Police suspected that these people were involved in illegal activity such as drugs and began pursuing them in order to question them.

One of the men, who was identified as 54-year-old David Brook Light, was captured and taken into custody.

Light was charged with various drug offenses as well as trespassing.

The second man identified as 51-year-old Gregory Longnecker ran back into the wooded area.

A Pennsylvania State Police helicopter followed Longnecker until losing sight of him in the thick brush.

A State police officer and a Pennsylvania Game Commission resource officer drove into the brush with a bulldozer to clear the scene and make a path for other officers to search the area.

Police said that they found a large marijuana growing plant while looking for the suspect, but so far, police said did not find a link to the drugs and the two suspects.

While searching for the suspect on the bulldozer the officer asked the driver to stop. They went out of the vehicle and found Longnecker dead under the back of the bulldozer, authorities said.
