It is no secret that police officers like to eat donuts and that they don’t like thieves.

This week, police in Alaska had a bizarre incident involving a thief who stole a donut from them.

Anchorage police posted a video to Facebook showing the moment a squirrel grabbed a donut from a police officer and fled the scene with the sweet in its mouth.

They added the caption: “Seriously. He stole a perfectly good donut. FROM A COP. That’s a straight-up felony. Also… it’s rude.”

The adorable video went viral and received many funny comments.

One man wrote: “trespassing, resisting arrest, and generally acting squirrely.”

A woman wrote: “BEWARE: The ‘Donut Thief’ struck again, but this time was caught on tape. His MO is stealing pretty much anything tasty, but he especially loves doughnuts. He is currently on the run from the police! The suspect is about 14 inches long, and weighs about 2 pounds. Don’t be fooled by his cuteness, he is a hardened criminal!”

A third person wrote: “Too funny! So cute. Thank you for not shooting him. He probably has 5 squirrelings that he is trying to feed.”
