Azania’s Daughter Went To Therapy After The Migos Saga

In a recent Drum magazine cover feature, the new Real Talk On 3 host shares how her daugther, Shamiso, had to seek counselling to cope with the stress of becoming the talk of the proverbial town after a series of tweets from the teen sparked speculation that she was with one of the rappers from U.S. trap trio, Migos, during their South African tour.

The trouble began when Mosaka’s daugther tweeted about getting approached by one of the rappers who was seated in the VIP section next to the one she was in during the concert’s official after party.

A picture then surfaced the next morning of her lying next to an unidentified person who many assumed was one of the group’s bandmates. Another Twitter user then came forward to state that he had been hired to organize a number of girls as “stocko” for the rappers (we’re not sure what his exact intention was with using that particular word) and he went on to name Shamiso as one of those girls – leading to her tweets and screenshots of the photo trending.

Shamiso was then insulted, interrogated and called names – causing her to go on a short social media hiatus. Her mother immediately came to her defence and attempted to clarify the situation but was met with intense scrutiny.

Mosaka referred to the entire ordeal as traumatic, explaining how her then-teenage daughter had to lean on her therapist, friends and family in order to make it through her exams. The counselling seems to have kept the stress and anxiety at bay as Mosaka says Shamiso successfully completed her exams.
