GH¢27,000.00 spent on Constituency elections

Dormaa Ahenkro (B/A), June 25, GNA – The
Dormaa Central Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) expended
an amount of GH¢27, 000.00 on the organisation of its Constituency elections
held on Saturday, to elect 11 new Constituency Executives to steer the affairs
of the Party for the next four years.

Dormaa Ahenkro (B/A), June 25, GNA – The
Dormaa Central Constituency of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) expended
an amount of GH¢27, 000.00 on the organisation of its Constituency elections
held on Saturday, to elect 11 new Constituency Executives to steer the affairs
of the Party for the next four years.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in
Dormaa Ahenkro Mr Kwaku Agyemang, the Outgoing Constituency Organiser said
1,075 delegates including stakeholders, Council of Elders, former ambassadors,
DCEs and MCEs from 106 polling stations participated in the process.

He said the organisation of the elections
nearly faced a financial setback but with the help of some faithful members the
process was held smoothly.

The Outgoing Constituency Organiser said 50
per cent of the filing fee paid in by candidates went to the Constituency,
while 30 per cent of the fees went to the Regional Office of the Party with 20
per cent going to national office.

Mr Agyemang said candidates vying for the
Chairmanship position were made to pay a filing fee of GH¢400, Organiser GH¢300,
the Deputy positions went for GH¢200, and 18 other executive positions had
their filing fees pegged at GH¢100 each.
