Inusah Fuseni Drags Daily Guide ShattaTamale Central MP, Inusah Fuseini

Tamale Central MP, Inusah Fuseini has said if government is able to enforce the various bye-laws that imposes fines on Ghanaian citizens for indiscipline behaviour, the proceeds can contribute significantly to the country’s budget.

According to him, if laws are correctly applied, and people are fined for flouting laws, the monies can be used to work on a lot of projects the government seeks aid for.

On Citi FM’s new analysis programme The Big Issue, Inusah Fuseini said if only government would charge Ghanaians for throwing rubbish where they are not supposed to, the problem of going for foreign aid would be partly solved.

“I am just saying indiscipline can fund Ghana, just charging people for indiscipline can fund the budget, we don’t need to go abroad for aid. Just charging people from throwing rubbish where they shouldn’t throw them, driving in the pavement when they shouldn’t be driving there, building on waterways when they shouldn’t build, charging them and collecting the money for the state, can fund the budget for the Republic of Ghana,” he said.

Monday’s rains didn’t just destroy property and kill ten people; but it also exposed the filth the city of Accra is engulfed in.

Ten people lost their lives following last Monday’s floods.

“We’ve lost ten lives across the country. If I say across the country meaning Greater Accra, Volta and Central Region,” Deputy Director-General of NADMO, Abu Ramadan, disclosed on Citi TV’s current affairs show, The Point of View.

According to the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), the ten persons were from the Central, Volta and Greater Accra Regions.

In an interview on the Citi Breakfast show on Wednesday, Abu Ramadan said citizens must not criticize politicians since they [citizens] “are those who create the filth that causes the gutters to get choked.”

“The problem is, if we don’t as a people stop trying hard to always blame politicians for the problems we have, we will never have a solution to our problems…the very people who turn around to blame politicians always are the very people who cause the filth.”
