Ban Tramadol and legalize marijuana – K.K Fosu

Hiplife artiste, Kaakyire Kwame Fosu popularly known as K. K. Fosu has called on government to rather legalize marijuana and ban pain killer, Tramadol.

According to him, the strong pain reliever is now the alternative for the youth because they will be arrested when caught smoking marijuana known in local parlance as ‘wee’.

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), the Pharmacy Council together with the security agencies have embarked on an operation to clamp down on those who take advantage of Ghana’s porous borders to smuggle higher doses of Tramadol into the country.

Currently, only 50mg of the drug has been approved by the FDA.

Some young boys in an interview explained how they combine a concoction of 500mg of Tramadol with energy drink and marijuana.

This they claim boosts their energy, enabling them to any task.

In an interview on Kasapa FM’s mid-morning show, K.K. bemoaned how the deadly drug called Tramadol is killing the youth ratherthan wee.

He cited how most musicians including him smoke “wee” and are very healthy producing good music to butress his point.

“Hard drugs include cocaine and stuff, which I will never tolerate, but wee is normal. Sometimes, wee is recommended to asthmatic patients to help their recovery. Many people take wee, we are just being hypocrites…” KK said.

KK Fosu is convinced if nothing is done about the Tramadol abuse, Ghana’s future will be threatened.

The ‘Anadwo Y3 D3’ hit maker has released a new single ‘Who Say Man No Dey’ off his upcoming album ‘I’m back’ which is set to be released in August 2018.
