Justice Court 012The court is expected to sit on the case on 3rd July, 2018

An Accra High Court on Thursday, placed an interlocutory injunction on the Ghana Cycling Federation (GCF), restraining them from holding an elective congress, fixed for Friday, June 22, in Tamale in the Northern Region.

The move was to seek redress on what the plaintiffs described as “some inconsistencies” in the constitution of the GCF.

The plaintiffs; Nathaniel Agoe, Wilberforce Quaye and Amen Amentor, are of the view that, there were some deficiencies, discrepancies and disparities in the constitution of the GCF, which are contrary to that of its mother body, the International Cycling Union (UCI).

They insisted that, efforts to resolve the issues with the GCF failed, hence the decision to resort to the law court to seek redress.

The plaintiffs are seeking the following; that the constitution of the GCF is considered null and void as there were inconsistencies with the mandatory provision of the UCI Constitution, an order of perpetual injunction restraining the defendant, its agents, assigns, privies or workmen from holding elections slated for 22nd June, 2018.

In addition, the circulation of election guidelines is a violation of the GCF and must be halted immediately and any other reliefs as this court may deem fit.

The court is expected to sit on the case on 3rd July, 2018.
