Vermont police chief in ICU after single bike accident in New York

A police chief suffered severe injuries after a bike accident.

Brandon del Pozo who is the police chief in Burlington, Vermont, was riding his bike when he crashed.

He was rushed to the University of Vermont Medical Center, where he was placed in the Intensive Care Unit.

He is expected to remain hospitalized for a sustained period of time after the serious bicycle crash left him with a head injury.

Mayor Miro Weinberger said that del Poz suffered a head injury and broken bones in the single-bike crash while riding in Keene, New York.

“Doctors are optimistic about a full recovery,” according to the press release from the city. Deputy Police Chief Jan Wright will serve as acting chief while del Pozo is recovering.
