Legal practitioner Tuah Yeboah observed Tuesday that Ghanaians are yet to learn from late Major Maxwell Mahama’s death through a mob action at Denkyira Obuasi (New Obuasi) in the Central region.

Commenting on the occasion of the first anniversary of the gruesome murder of the young army officer while on duty but mistaken for an armed robber by some unscrupulous persons and beaten to death, Lawyer Tuah urged Ghanaians to hand over suspected criminals to the Police to let the law take its course.

“People still take the law into their own hands and beat up and kill suspected criminals without reasoning and this is not helpful to our justice system,” he said on Suncity radio.

He urged state institutions in charge of justice and security, to distinguish themselves and win public confidence and trust.

He also urged the public to have belief, trust, patience and confidence in the Ghanaian justice system in order to eradicate or bring to the barest minimum, the incidence of instant justice.
