President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his delight at the conclusion of the two-year trial of Wisa Greid, D-Black has said.

Desmond Blackmore, better known as D-Black, who is the C.E.O of Black Avenue Music, paid a courtesy call on the President of Ghana together with members of his team including Wisa Greid earlier in May.

The visit to the Jubilee House came a day after Wisa had concluded his trial, raising questions about the motive for the meeting.

However, D-Black in an interview with JoyNews’ Maxwell Amoofia stated that the visit to Jubilee House was scheduled long before the judgment was pronounced.

‘We paid a courtesy call upon an invitation he gave us. We are officially opening our offices… It wasn’t a planned thing. We didn’t know there was going to be a ruling the day before’, he said.

The ‘Ekiki Mi’ hitmaker, Wisa Greid, openly campaigned for President Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the build-up to the 2016 General Elections.

Before declaring his support for the then flag bearer of the NPP, the artiste had been charged by an Accra Circuit Court for showing his manhood on stage during a performance in December 2015.

The court fined him an amount of ¢8400 or in default, Wisa would serve a 24-month jail term.

D-Black revealed after the visit that President Akufo-Addo was elated that the trial that lasted two years was finally over.

‘The President spoke with him, advised him and was very happy that he was done with that situation’, he said.

The CEO of Black Avenue Music also stated that the controversies surrounding the court case and payment of fine have not affected the record label in any way.
