Vodafone Ghana has celebrated the first anniversary of its revolutionary Super Care service with members of the Ghana National Association for the Deaf (GNAD) at a ceremony in Accra.

The specialized service which attends to persons who are speech and hearing impaired has received over 7000 video calls since its inception. Over 300 registered members of the GNAD have also subscribed to the service and are enjoying highly subsidised data and SMS bundles.

As part of the anniversary celebration, Vodafone presented 100 brand new smartphones to the secretariat. Customers on the SuperCare offer, also enjoyed free and unlimited browsing on the anniversary day. The telco dedicated an hour as part of the day’s activities to sensitize and create awareness of speech and hearing impairment in selected Vodafone Retail shops across the country.

Speaking on the occasion, which coincides with Vodafone Ghana’s 10th anniversary and the 50th anniversary of the Association, Ag. Marketing Director, Patricia Obo-Nai said;

“We are proud of the success that SuperCare has attained at one. Introducing SuperCare was an easy decision for us. This is because we always look for new opportunities to use our technology to impact society in a meaningful way. SuperCare is a component of our huge digitization agenda.”

“In celebrating with our customers, we are running an anniversary month promotion, where members can enjoy 1GB data weekly at 50p only, by dialing *494#. Our SuperCare bundles have also been reworked in order to offer more data, following feedback from customers.” She added.

The Executive Director of the Ghana National Association for the Deaf, Juventus Duorinaah, said;

“SuperCare has really been helpful since it started. I am able to communicate with my colleagues and disseminate information through video calls. This technique is better than text message because some of our friends have difficulties with English proficiency so we are happy with this intervention as understanding is easier with the video.”

Last year Vodafone Ghana launched Vodafone SuperCare within their Experience Centre, as part of efforts to ensure no one is left behind in the digital revolution. By simply dialing the short code *494#, users are able to access a plethora of options to engage its Experience Centre agents. Through the same code, they are able to purchase special bundles which offer more data and SMS.
