Blakofe Gabby PoeGabby Asare Otchere-Darko believes Akua Blakofe is going overboard with her utterances

It is quite unnecessary and exaggerative to suggest in any way at all that any member of the ruling New Patriotic Party is seeking after the life of someone they appointed into power merely because she resigned and is aiding the course against corruption, Legal Practitioner and a key figure in the governing NPP, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has said.

For which reason he is admonishing former Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTDC), Akua Blakofe to desist from her ‘annoying’ utterances following her resignation, that seeks to put the party in a bad light and stir the anger of Ghanaians towards the Akufo-Addo government.

His comments come after the resigned Deputy CEO took to Facebook in a post to indicate that she feels threatened ‘for wanting to do the right thing’ and no longer feels safe in the country.

Blakofe, tendered her resignation about two weeks ago, over what she describes as massive corruption at GTDC which according to her, conflict with her principles.

In a post on the social media platform Saturday and Sunday respectively, Blakofe wrote:

“Infact with all the wahala, I no longer feel safe. I feel victimized and threatened. If anything happens to me, you all know what caused it.”

“It’s sad that for wanting to do the right thing, I’m now the victim of threats. I really don’t feel safe in Gh but I can’t leave my exams…”

Mr. Otchere however believes the initial ‘justified and respectable’ reasons stated by Blakofe for her resignation are now being invalidated by the numerous utterances on Facebook as her comments are mere attempts by her to ‘start a whole negative campaign against the government”.

“You resigned on principle and, in fact, won a lot of admiration (from me and many others) for that. But, now it seems like you want to start a whole negative campaign against the government”.

He described her ‘death threat’ claims as ridiculous and her utterances as “annoying” and suggestive of “a more sinister motive”.
