The New Patriotic Party Volta Regional executive elections are ongoing in Hohoe despite an injunction placed on the process by a disqualified aspirant for the regional Chairman position.

Kofi Boateng claimed he was not treated fairly and resorted to the courts after failed attempts to seek redress using internal party mechanisms.

Although he secured a court injunction against the exercise, indications are that the elections are coming off unabated.

In a communique signed by the Spokesperson for the Regional Elections Committee, Bright Nyatsikor, the party insisted they are unaware of the court action and its repercussions.

Checks by Citi News revealed that enough preparations in terms of logistics and security have been made for the exercise to take off today.

The Hohoe Divisional Police Commander DCOP Martin Ayi also said he was only aware of an injunction on the election of the Chairman and not the entire process.

But in the injunction which has been sighted by Citi News, it says the NPP has been restrained from conducting the Regional Delegates Conference and the Regional Executive Election.

The mood in Hohoe last night suggested that delegates are equally unperturbed by the legal developments.

Almost all delegates and candidates have arrived in the town and booked hotels. They were seen last night enjoying the nightlife and socializing.

The contenders vying for the position include a former Volta Regional Manager of Ghana Telecom, Douglas Kirk Wagba; the Regional Organiser, Makafui Kofi Woanyah; a financier of the party, David Agubiga; a private legal practitioner, Ken Anku, and a party activist, Rev. Johnson Avuletey.
