Chancellor of GH Media School, Dr. Kofi Osei-Kusi has called on all Ghanaian youth to hunger and thirst for knowledge as it is one way if not the only way to assure their success in life.

Speaking at the 2nd edition of the ‘Change Africa Summit’ under the theme; “The Archetype Change from Job Seeking to Job Creation” at the Chartered Institute of Bankers (CIB) in Accra on Friday April 20, 2018, Dr. Osei-Kusi advised millennials to be humble by always being ready to learn from the best and eschew intellectual arrogance.

“Humility is the hunger to learn. To go far you have to have inward humility. It is the amount of knowledge available to you that determines how fast you go in life. Those running at the high speed of life are carrying a lot of knowledge and information, “he said.

Dr. Osei-Kusi noted that being proud and reluctant to learn from others only guarantees stagnation in an individual’s life and stated emphatically that based on the knowledge he has about the particular subject, wealthy people are rarely hesitant in acquiring knowledge.

“Proud people think they know it all. When you are talking to a proud person, they are just listening to you, they are not taking notes, and they think they know what we are saying already. That is why they are stuck where they are. You have to have inward humility. I can assure you I have done a little research, I have never seen a super wealthy person who is not humble, “he explained.

He also charged the youth to step out of their comfort zones and work tirelessly in order to succeed in their respective career paths.

According to him, the youth of today instead of studying rather find solace in watching movies, thronging entertainment shows and parading themselves on social media while their books continue to gather dust on the shelves.

He argued that, Africa is undoubtedly blessed with rich natural resources yet our continent continues to cripple and crawl behind other nations with fewer possessions.

Dr. Osei-Kusi in this regard, urged the youth to venture into entrepreneurship rather than passing through tertiary cycles with hopes of securing jobs that are nonexistent.
