Ntim Npp AspirantStephen Ntim claims the delegates will vote for him on the election day

New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairman aspirant, Mr. Stephen Ntim says he is a clear favourite to win the June elections.

He says virtually all polls emerging on the up-coming elections give him an overwhelming endorsement over his challengers and believes delegates will elect him.

Stephen Ntim was speaking on Asempa FM Tuesday, and said consistently he comes up with 80 percent endorsement in polls on the elections while some of his challengers garner as pitiable endorsements as three percent.

He discounted claims that he has fallen out of the race as a result of alleged promptings by President Akufo-Addo, saying even though the president has implored him to step down, he has made it clear to the president that he intends to see the race through.

He said however that while delegates have welcomed his campaign message, embraced and loved it, his campaign has come under serious acts of vandalism particularly from the camp of another aspirant, Alhaji Abubakar Abdul-Rahman, affectionately called Alhaji Short.

According to the businessman and Chairman of the Governing Board of the Ghana Lands Commission, his campaign posters are being defaced or superimposed with those of Alhaji Short, and it is all because his challenger feels defeated already and has his back to the wall. He said he is bound to win the race and reiterated his willingness to work with whoever emerges the party’s flagbearer for 2020, including President Akufo-Addo.

His worry, however, was that all manner of machinations were being hurled in the way of his campaign at a level never seen in the party’s internal elections, pointing out that this election would be his fourth contesting the post.

He protested vehemently thus: “I don’t attack anybody.” “What have I done?” “Why are they doing that?” “It is not fair.” “I have never seen such level of vandalism.”

According to Stephen Ntim, having toured 83 constituencies so far in his campaigns, the signals from would-be delegates are that it is his time for him to be elected chairman and that no one can turn against the forces of nature.

He stressed that delegates believe he has toiled enough for the party and should be voted for.
