“The economy has done what? So how are the men are able to work and earn the money in this same economy but women can’t?”, Gifty Osei-Boakye Bingley has questioned Moesha Boduong.

As an outstanding Communications and Strategy Executive who has led successful campaigns for multi-national companies, Mrs Osei-Boakye says it is sheer laziness to totally say the Ghanaian woman uses her sexuality to satisfy her financial needs.

“Choices! I got home at 2.30am this morning from work and I am already up. What did she say again about the Ghanaian woman? Lazy woman”, the Director, Brand and Corporate Communications for AirtelTigo fumed.

She advised Moesha not to speak for the entire Ghanaian women but only for herself.

“Speak for yourself and stop the tomfoolery,” she wrote on Facebook.

Moesha Boduong in an interview with CNN’s Christiane Amanpour said Ghanaian women have sex with married men for money.

“In Ghana, our economy is such a way that you need someone to take care of you. You can’t make enough money as a woman here. Because even when you want to get an apartment, in Ghana they take two years’ advance and I just started working where will get money to pay?” she said.

The host who looked shocked by Moesha’s response asked: “are you basically telling me that you are having sex with this guy to pay your rent?”

“Because he can afford to take care of you. He takes care of me, my financials, my apartment, my car, my rent, everything,” Moesha said.

Since the issue broke, people have been expressing divergent opinions on the matter.

While some think her statement cast a dent on the image of Ghanaian women, others have said it is the true representation of the situation on the ground.
