Ghana international Gideon Baah has signed a long term contract Kazakhstani side FC Kairat.

Baah has been a free agent since leaving New York Red Bulls in November of last year.

He had been training with the 2-time Kazakh champions for some time and was recently with the team in their training tour of Turkey.

The 26 year old former Asante Kotoko left back started first joined Finnish outfit FC Honka in 2013 before joining giants HJK Helsinki the following season.

The former MTN Soccer Academy graduate signed for Major League Soccer side New York Red Bulls but his stay in America was rocked by injuries limiting him to just nine appearances before his release in November of 2017.

Baah says Kairat represents a great opportunity for him to get his career back on track after injuries ruined his last spell in the MLS.

“This is a very good opportunity for me as a person and as a player and I hope I can make the most out of it and I hope they can make the most out of me.

“I think Kairat is one of the biggest clubs in Kazakhstan and I hope to use this opportunity wisely because to develop as a player, FC Kairat is a good place to be,” he told the club’s media at his unveiling.

Baah will spot the number 48 shirt for the Almaty-based outfit.
