New Mmt16The Board chair was disappointed with the poor work ethics he witnessed during his visit

Workers of the Metro Mass Transit Limited in Accra, will effective April 01, 2018 be paid an hourly wage for their services instead of a fixed salary, Board Chairman, Ahmed Arthur has told Kasapa 102.5 FM.

This comes after some 50 workers of the company were sent home by the Board Chairman for reporting to work late on Tuesday.

The Board Chair Ahmed Arthur was left with shock as he observed poor work ethics within the yard when he paid an unannounced visit to the facility.

According to Arthur, what he found painted a grim picture of employees work ethics as he questioned the work rate of workers of the facility in view of the indiscipline.

“Management will meet to determine what further sanctions that ’ll be meted out to the affected workers. Most of the workers report to work at 10:30 am and leave at 4:00 pm. We won’t compromise on punctuality hence the need for discipline. We have also activated the clock-in machine to ensure we bring seriousness at the facility.”

Meanwhile, he’s commended the Metro Mass drivers for their phenomenal hard work saying he’ll at the right time reward the drivers for their punctuality, efficiency and mindful work ethic.
