Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited has for the second consecutive year won the coveted “Best Digital Banking – Ghana 2018” award by Capital Finance International (cfi), United Kingdom, the publisher of the reputable cfi.co, a business, economics and finance magazine. The award is an endorsement of the Bank’s strength in the area of electronic banking.

GTBank has become known globally for innovation and the use of technology to enable customers and patrons carry out transactions conveniently from wherever they may find themselves.

An extensive voting exercise involving reputable readers, subscribers and contributors of cfi.co magazine resulted in the nomination and shortlisting of some Ghanaian banks, GTBank inclusive.

After series of interviews, the panel of judges declared Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited winner in recognition of the multiple alternative services channels for which the bank has established a well-earned reputation as an e-banking pioneer.

A report by the panel of judges made available to the Bank states that “determined to provide streamlined, integrated, and easily accessible financial services, Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) has vastly expanded its online platform and distribution channels. The bank cuts across demographic and social strata to offer its comprehensive suite of products and services to all Ghanaians, in the process reducing the number of people without access to bank accounts.”

The report further stated that “GTBank allows customers to zero their accounts without running the risk of closure. The nifty app developed by the bank enables instant money transfers, online bill payments, and the topping up of pre-paid phones. The app also instantly connects users to a help line where agents are ready to answer all queries thus ensuring a human touch amidst all technological marvels.”

Managing Director of Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, Mr. Lekan Sanusi expressed joy at the recognition. “We appreciate Capital Finance International’s recognition of our convenient electronic channels which we serve to our customers and non-customers. The award reminds us and those we serve of our commitment to making banking simple for everyone.”

In the twelve (12) years of its operations in Ghana, GTBank has established itself as a household brand, a pacesetter and the most technologically driven bank in the country, with several local and international awards to show for it.

GTBank has deployed a robust IT platform to deliver reliable and efficient electronic banking solutions for its customers and in some cases non-customers alike, recent among which are myghpay.com and GTWorld.

The bank recently received the Payments Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) version 3.2 Compliance certification, which is heralded as the most demanding payment-card security standard recognized globally by industry watchers. With this it has become one of the very few banks in West Africa and the first in Ghana to be certified by the global market leader in cyber and information security, Sysnet.
