1.Gyan began his football career at Accra Academy

He is an old student of Accra Academy. He began his football exploits as he won laurels with the school before joining Liberty Professionals.

In 2003 at Liberty Professionals, Asamoah Gyan scored 10 goals in 16 games in the Ghana Premier League.

2.Gyan made his Black Stars debut at age 17

He made his International debut for Ghana at just age 17. Gyan scored on his senior International debut for Ghana against Somalia on 19 November 2003 in the 90th minute.

He came on for Isaac Boakye in the 62nd minute in a 2006 FIFA World Cup qualifier, three days before he turned 18 years; helping Ghana to win that game, and making him the youngest ever player to score for Ghana.

3.Gyan scores Ghana’s first World Cup goal

He scored Ghana’s first ever World Cup goal and the fastest goal at the 2006 World Cup in just 68 seconds against the Czech Republic.

He is currently Africa’s highest scorer at the World Cup with six goals in three World Cup.

Gyan is also Black Stars all-time top scorer with 51 goals.

5.Gyan is married with three kids

Gyan is married to a lady called Gifty and has three lovely children namely Frederick Gyan, Floyd Gyan, Rafael Gyan. The player amid all his fame has been able to keep his family away from the public.

6.Gyan was the most expensive Sunderland signing

He became Sunderland’s record signing in 2010 when he joined for £13 million.

7.Gyan become Africa’s highest paid footballer

Gyan joined Shanghai SIPG in China in 2015 and become Africa’s highest paid Footballer is earned £227,000 a week and also the eight best-paid footballer in the World.

8.Gyan is one of the most successful businessmen in Ghana

The footballer own businesses like Baby Jet Promotions, he is into real estates, ASA band, Mama Vits Noodles and Rice, JetLink Events & Logistics, Water Company, Energy drink, own a number of buses and recently acquired a license to operate an airline.
