Hearts New LossHearts of Oak are in Techiman while Kotoko travel to Sogakope in week 1 of the Ghana Premier League

Hello good afternoon and welcome to our live text coverage of the 2017/2018 Ghana Premier League season.

After a long, protracted legal battle between Accra Great Olympics and the Ghana Football Association- which is not over by the way- the courts have grated the FA permission to start the league.

Yesterday, Inter Allies and Bechem kicked-off the season, with Inter Allies, led by Japanese trainer Kenichi Yatsuashi beating Bechem United 3-0 at the Tema Sports stadium.

Niger international Victorien Adebyor was the star of the show, scoring two goals to win the Man of the Match award.

This afternoon, there are six games to look forward too, with one game postponed due to Aduana’s participation in the CAF Champions League.

Newly promoted Eleven Wonders FC will be honouring their first ever Ghanaian top-flight match on Sunday at the Nana Ameyaw Park as they host giants Hearts of Oak.

The Techiman based outfit won the Division One league zone one last season to secure their premiership status.

They need to overcome the Phobians this weekend if they mean to break a three seasons jinx.

Asante Kotoko are also on the road as they face WAFA in Sogakope this afternoon.

WAFA who finished second in last season’s league campaign hosts the Porcupine Warriors at the difficult Sogakope Park where they last recorded a defeat in January, 2015.

A win on Sunday will be another perfect start for the hosts.

Here’s the fixture list for this afternoon. All games kick off at 3pm GMT

WAFA vs Asante Kotoko

AshantiGold vs Wa All Stars

Ebusua Dwarfs vs Berekum Chelsea

Dreams FC vs Dawu

Medeama vs Karela FC

Techiman Eleven Wonders vs Hearts of Oak
