Accra Hearts of Oak defender Christopher Bonney says he takes a lot of inspiration from former Black Stars defender Samuel Inkoom and Brazilian right-back Dani Alves.

Christopher Bonney joined Accra Hearts of Oak from Ebusua Dwarfs in the transfer window.

Having already played for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, the 22-year-old is one of the few players to play for two of Ghana’s biggest clubs.

The defender who can play on the right and left sides of defence was unveiled with other new players of the club last week in Accra.

Following his official outdooring by the club, Bonney told the club’s website he looks up to players like Samuel Inkoom and Dani Alves in his approach to play.

“If I play on the right, I try to be like Samuel Inkoom or Dani Alves- I like to go forward and make some good pullouts and create for the strikers,” he told accraheartsofoaksc.com

“This is what I am bringing and I hope they will bury the chances, as and when they come,” he added.

Christopher Boney is one of the few penalty experts in the country and has scored quite a few for both Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Ebusua Dwarfs in the past. The agile defender adds he wants to improve on the taking of set pieces, a quality that can help his new club.

‘’I want to work very hard and I want to improve my set piece ability. It’s a quality I am trying want to polish to help Hearts going into next season.”

Meanwhile, Accra Hearts of Oak lost 1-0 to Elmina Sharks in a preseason friendly on Sunday at their newly adopted home venue- the Cape Coast Stadium.
